FOMENTO A LA LECTURA (CONVOCATORIA BUAP)


Con la finalidad de realizar actividades que permitan el desarrollo de la ruta de mejora escolar se presenta y difunde a udes. jovenes alumnos la siguiente convocatoria de "la ciencia para todos" del Fondo de Cultura Economica y la BUAP.

This song is to the tune of "Hey, Soul Sister" as sung by TRAIN (composed by Pat Monahan and Amund Bjorklund) . In the song I go through the 3 phase changes of water, singing about what happens at each step. I include references to the jobs of latent heat of fusion and latent heat of vaporization and reinforce that the temperature stays the same in those phase changes but goes up when the water has completely changed into the next phase.

A change of phase, for water is a change in state
In the state of matter, from solid to liquid then to gas
Or the reverse!

The constant heat, will energize the particles in special ways.
When the water's solid, the temperature rises, see the diagonal line!

The particles vibrate, they vibrate in place, that's the way for all heated solids, too.

Then the added heat, starts to melt the ice, and then you can plainly see
A horizontal line -- a phase change occurs
The solid bonds break. They break!

Until all the ice, the ice is melted, the temperature stays the same,
The latent heat of fusion, now that's what's working to ..... to change the phase, the phase!

But when all the water, the water's turned to liquid, the molecules move far apart.
The kinetic energy causes a rise in the temperature as you can see!!

ONCE AGAIN WILL BREAK THE LIQUID BONDS THAT PARTICLES DO HAVE
SO THE PARTICLES CAN VAPORIZE!
VAPORIZE, ONE BY ONE, IT'S THE LATENT HEAT OF VAPORIZA-TION AT WORK, GON-NA BREAK THOSE BONDS!

During the phase change, the water's boiling but the temperature remains the same.
The latent heat is breaking all the bonds, but the temperature remains the same.
It won't go up again until all the liquid has vaporized and the heat remains.....
